The Haakon Jones stories were good, and, unlike that Frank L. Almost none of us have managed to make a living doing what we love. We all have worked "regular" jobs in order to keep the money coming in so that we can eat, etc. We have all stayed up half the night working on the art. Some hit lucky, and can make 100% of their living from their art, but those are very few. It's a hard slog, and we all know it. But we keep doing it...Eve Fisherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03015761600962360110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-55566933265738163762015-08-22T00:00:05.627-04:002015-08-22T00:00:05.627-04:00I'm sorry to hear about your friend and collea...I'm sorry to hear about your friend and colleague, RT.

I wonder if it was just as hard in the days of Jack London to be published, but I was raised with a number of popular authors that have fallen by the wayside in our collective consciousness.Leigh Lundinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07921276795499571578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-76468232006591697382015-08-21T18:45:07.801-04:002015-08-21T18:45:07.801-04:00A true reflection of the work we do: balanced, fac...A true reflection of the work we do: balanced, factual, written with a lot of feeling -- a great example of how you have to have grit to make it through some of the tight spots. As you say, we have to persevere. The fact that you read about people making millions writing or painting or in music just indicates how newsworthy- i.e. unusual- such success is.
