I never thought of having my writings taught in school, though that's a great goal. I wanted to see my novels on the rack in the grocery store, which still hasn't happened, though I see them on book shelves and in libraries. Let's hope we both achieve our goals pre-mortem!Fran Rizerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08655783035179620991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-20627164318507901002013-04-15T13:19:19.683-04:002013-04-15T13:19:19.683-04:00An interesting question. I wanted to write for as long as I can remember and certainly before I read anything more than Dick And Jane.

When I was exposed to literature in high school, we read such authors as Jack London, Poe, Mark Twain and Thomas Hardy. I remember wanting to have my stories eventually become "required reading" in school. Then it occurred to me that all of the abovementioned were dead. That, I thought, must be a requirement. So far, at least in my case, that's true.Herschel Cozinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06097703750150309319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-68827037350942509912013-04-15T10:54:24.509-04:002013-04-15T10:54:24.509-04:00Oops! Montgomery's Emily of New Moon, Little Women, and Anne Frank's diary. But I confess the only thing I remember about Look Homeward,Angel (yes, I did read it) is that it was Maxwell Perkins who accepted the book and did that massive edit himself. They don't make editors like that any more!Elizabeth Zelvinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13944424094949207841noreply@blogger.com
