One can have all the emotion in the world, but if that emotion is flat and contrived, or done right in a boring story, you lose me. I’m not sure I conveyed the humor, though.

Thanks for the video link, Rob, uh, I think :-) .

Thanks, Cindy.

Thanks for your comment, Jacqueline. Even if we know something sometimes it’s good to get it reinforced.

Melodie, you made me laugh. Unfortunately, I think we were probably all – at least many of us – like that. But I think it’s part of the process. The other thing that gets me, besides people just want me to read their stuff, are the ones who want me to write it cause it’s sure to be the next smash success.

Thanks, Larry. I finally have learned to tell them that I don't read manuscripts other than those of my college students - and that's over 50 a year. I am stunned at how many people think it would be a treat for bestselling authors to read complete beginner works. It's the difference between vivid story-telling and just providing a plot. The characters need to become so real that the reader cares about what is going to happen to them. Of course, easier said than done!Jacqueline Seewaldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09177500620940251009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-58152199976609563162019-07-02T13:29:06.907-04:002019-07-02T13:29:06.907-04:00Thank you, Paul, for this recap.
