...Damn, that sounds fun. SF was my first love too.

A tiny real-life time-travel story amused me. Two teen girls lived in different time zones. They pretended one lived in the past and the other the future, so future girl learned the outcome of television shows and news before the other. And then one evening future girl text-messaged her friend: "Zombies! Run!"Leigh Lundinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07921276795499571578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-63005696784878453602022-09-21T11:50:02.689-04:002022-09-21T11:50:02.689-04:00I have seen way more than 18 folks on social media...I have seen way more than 18 folks on social media report they got sick at Bouchercon. I'm actually going to be talking about that subject a bit in a blog next month. One of the panelists said that Macchiavelli wrote a book summarizing the decade and a friend said, essentially "You have to publish this or people in the future won't realize how awful things were." And this was the decade where some off the greatest art in western history was being made. It as also the time Michaelangelo made no art for a couple of years because he was so depressed about politics. I love the way sci-fi/fantasy writers think.
Also, yes, the Dark and Middle Ages have gotten a bum rap for centuries, and it began when the Renaissance youngsters (Petrarch, Dante, etc.) rebelled in typical teenage fashion and wrote it all down in burning prose & poetry.
