What an ordeal that young lady went through. I wish you all the best in your new digs. I was not aware that you had moved since I have only been to our site to post my articles. Haven't read other folks but am finally feeling better so hope to stay caught up now.Jan Grapehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13323910083703514953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-29188954282845534472012-08-13T07:20:36.038-04:002012-08-13T07:20:36.038-04:00Congratulations to Leo!

In that last category is our fellow who completed his relay running on a broken fibula. It includes Kerri Struggs from many years ago. It includes Oscar the 'Blade Runner'. You got to admire people like that.

Here in SA, they were thrilled to earn 6 medals, the most since the collapse of apartheid. They were happy that Oscar and Caster were able to compete (and she brought home a silver).

Beyond their borders they rooted for the UK and the US and, like the rest of us, for the underdog. And South Africans are happy that the US captured the most medals, beating out China.

By the way, newspapers here reported that North Korea rewards their medal winners with refrigerators and perhaps a car and punishes losers with forced labor camps. Not a pleasant thought.

Footnote: News also reports that the Olympic Village consumed 150,000 free Durex condoms until they ran out. Australians brought in 'buckets' of additional condoms to, er, fill the gap.Leigh Lundinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07921276795499571578noreply@blogger.com
