Thanks for t...Paul, Janice, Michael, R.T. and Eve,

Thanks for the comments. Pacific Coast Highway sounds like fun. As for the covers, I took the photo of the battlefield and my artist daughter painted the covers of SAINT LOLITA and THE LONG COLD. My son, who is a scupltor and an artist (he did other covers) was the model for the cover of HOLD ME, BABE. He fits the description of the main character.O'Neil De Nouxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03142721824657611738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-40976387537745257212018-03-09T17:25:45.075-05:002018-03-09T17:25:45.075-05:00O'Neil, when it comes to writing, I'm into...O'Neil, when it comes to writing, I'm into taking long walks on the beach... or anywhere else. And you’re right about the instrument sometimes working like a laser and sometimes getting stuck in the mud. The idea of daydreaming is a good one. I find that ideas often come to me in the shower – I’m not sure why. But I know at least one other person who says the same thing. And before I moved farther inland I used to drive up Pacific Coast Highway, music blasting, and that would sometimes set the imagination free. One time – a long time ago – when I was working on a script and nothing was working right I went down to a condo in Palm Desert by myself. During the day I’d hang at the pool and at night I’d work. And I did the old trick of putting every scene on an index card and shuffling them around (it was before computers, like I said, a long time ago) and it all finally came together using that old technique.

Sometimes it’s easier than other times, but I always think of what Hemingway said, “There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at the typewriter and bleed.” It’s easy. Everyone knows that.
Paul D. Markshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15466234708772287399noreply@blogger.com
