I found the tour very interesting. There is really no need to tie in Jesse but it is interesting. More interesting is the natural history - 400 million years! It takes 100 years for one of the formations to grow 1 cubic inch. The tour is well worth the time and the money. You have really provided a great deal about Jesse James and Meramec Caverns.
My wife and I are watching the new AMC series "The American West," which includes much about Jesse James, and are finding the series very interesting and well done.
I grew up in Pennsylvania in the 50s and 60s, but my parents were from St. Louis, so we would spend at least two weeks in Missouri every summer. I well remember the painted barns advertising Meramec Caverns and Jesse James, and wanted to see them. But my parents said it was a ripoff and would not go. I believe they had visited the Caverns when they were younger.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01758658068568017626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-56833747618366636492013-06-19T02:15:35.855-04:002013-06-19T02:15:35.855-04:00Fascinating article, Dale.
