I enjoy writing historical mysteries and historical fiction. My last mystery novel was set in 1952, the one I'm writing is set in 1901. I have a Gilded Age novel coming out next year. Many of my recent short stories are set in the 1890s and 1940s, including this year's Shamus winner,"Sac-a-lait Man" (set in 1948). Lot of research but I'm fortunate.
