Does anyone remember a spy thriller called Terminate with Extreme Prejudice? I can't recall the author but it was a wild ride.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-50222412073528864982022-07-07T11:15:04.349-04:002022-07-07T11:15:04.349-04:00Reminds me of the Society for Creative Anachronism...Reminds me of the Society for Creative Anachronism which says it brings back the Middle Ages without the plagues and racism.Robert Loprestihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08844889305615182897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-44592883574837356312022-07-07T11:14:06.041-04:002022-07-07T11:14:06.041-04:00Congrats, Liz.Congrats, Liz.Robert Loprestihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08844889305615182897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-31862699749673685242022-07-07T11:13:40.822-04:002022-07-07T11:13:40.822-04:00It certainly is. I might also note that William Burton McCormick's story "Demon in the Depths," published in EQMM in 2021, is an excellent modern example of an adventure story, set more or less in the present (but in the far North and on the sea).<br />Jeff SolowayJeff Solowayhttp://www.randomhousebooks.com/authors/jeff-soloway/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-63686735324708917902022-07-07T08:20:14.063-04:002022-07-07T08:20:14.063-04:00One of the first fiction stories I sold was an adv...One of the first fiction stories I sold was an adventure story, and I still love them. The other stories are mostly mysteries. I deal with the political issues by setting the story in the 16th century and making the Jews and Ottoman Turks the good guys and the European Christians, notably the Knights of Rhodes, the bad guys. The story is called “A Matter of Perspective.” Btw, Deanna Raybourn’s Veronica Speedwell Victorian-era romps, billed as mysteries, are good reads for fans of Amelia Peabody. One of them is set in Egypt.Elizabeth Zelvinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13944424094949207841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-44644446320891951642022-07-06T18:12:16.037-04:002022-07-06T18:12:16.037-04:00I got a copy of "The Best of Adventure" ...I got a copy of "The Best of Adventure" (Magazine) a while back, mainly because it has a little-known story by Damon Runyon in it.
