For that reason, my bulleted cliché list says she has a heart of FeS2… fool’s gold.

The henchwoman Callie falls short of evil– her boss is, but she doesn’t commit any actual crimes. She is cold-blooded and an interesting character. In 1941, The Maltese Falcon shocked the movie-going public by featuring a female criminal. Women doing badly still shocks us ¾ of a century later. And outside the Cooperman law firm, the women are portrayed as decent creatures, far better than the men. Patty and her client Rachel… I love them.

But I bet you have a good article!Leigh Lundinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07921276795499571578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3119105822589181967.post-49388937258691419372017-01-08T10:29:36.565-05:002017-01-08T10:29:36.565-05:00Will look it up. A psych PHD candidate would have a field-day examining those gender cliches in a thesis. Not sure I can get past that, Leigh.
Just the other day in class I was addressing the problem of 'the disposable woman' in US television. Hey! It’s not City of Angels, yet it has a little of the flavor.

Thanks, Art. I do recommend it.

Janice, I can’t believe I didn’t think of that. You are ever so right. But hey, lipstick lesbians must adhere to a certain standard. At times, McBride made Columbo look elegantly sartorial. It also seems everybody smokes.
